August 27–28 the Roma Women’s Fund “Chirikli” took part in two important events of strategic significance for shaping state policy in the field of human rights.
On August 27, we joined the work of the Expert Council on National Minorities and Indigenous Peoples under the Representative of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights. During the meeting, the “Chirikli” team presented the results of its activities for the first half of 2025, including events and initiatives implemented with the support of the fund.
Special attention was drawn to the presentation of the interim results of the project “Social Atlas of Roma Communities in Zakarpattia”, in which Roma mediators play a key role.
On August 28, an expert discussion was held on the draft National Human Rights Strategy until 2035. “Chirikli” submitted its proposals to Section 17, which concerns ensuring the rights of national minorities and indigenous peoples.
We sincerely thank the Office of the Ombudsman of Ukraine,
the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, and all our partners for their cooperation.
“We believe that it is precisely through the joint efforts of state institutions, civil society, and international organizations that comprehensive solutions are born, capable of truly changing people’s lives.”
