The NGO Roma Women’s Fund “Chiricli” continues to hold working meetings with regional and local authorities in order to attempt to propose a mediation service to governmental structures that would simultaneously address a range of issues in their communication with the Roma community, as well as provide qualified and timely social and medical assistance to the Roma community.

On June 25, 2012, in the city of Sverdlovsk, Luhansk region, a roundtable meeting was held on the topic: “Improving Access of the Roma Population to Medical Services” as part of the “Stop Tuberculosis” program, supported by the “Development of Ukraine” fund. Representatives of the local Council, local branches, the Red Cross, and Roma organizations were invited to discuss social, medical, documentation-related, and educational issues concerning Roma children. The meeting addressed topics such as access to medical and social services, relations with law enforcement authorities, and more.

The following decisions were made:

  4. Collaborate with the International Charity Organization “Roma Women’s Fund ‘Chirikli'” to develop a work plan for improving the Roma population’s access to medical, educational, and other services, including in the field of tuberculosis prevention.
