After three years of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, we remain steadfast in our dedication to supporting the Ukrainian Roma community.
Since February 2022, Ukrainian Roma families, children, and women have endured immense suffering, losses, and forced displacement. More than 100,000 Roma have been forced to leave their homes—seeking refuge abroad or becoming internally displaced persons in Ukraine.
We remember those who gave their lives for the right to live in a free country, where everyone can determine their own future, think freely, and act with dignity. At the same time, we value everyone who continues the fight—people who make daily efforts toward our victory, supporting those who need it most.
For three years of full-scale war, the “Chirikli” team has been working under conditions that required decisive and urgent action. We have helped Roma families evacuate from occupied and frontline territories, supported those who lost documents, and assisted in their restoration.
At the same time, we did what is important for the future—telling the world about Ukraine’s realities on international platforms so that our community’s voice is heard.
Today, more than ever, it is essential to maintain our spirit, continue helping, and unite efforts. We are proving that we stand with Ukraine—not just now, but also in the future.
Without the support of caring people and organizations, our work would not be possible. We appreciate everyone who contributes to helping the Roma community and Ukraine as a whole.
