The visit of a representative from the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights to a Romani camp.

On July 16, the NGO “Chiricli” along with the “Vidrodzhennya” Foundation organized a visit by a representative from the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights to a Romani camp in Kyiv, located in the Holosiivskyi district. Alongside Ms. Filipyshyna A.A., representatives from the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Social Policy, Ministry of Education and Science, as well as administrators from the child services of the Kyiv City and Holosiivskyi district administrations were present.

On July 17, a roundtable discussion titled “Issues of Access to Social and Medical Services for Roma, Especially Children” took place at the office of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights. The roundtable was initiated by the NGO “Chiricli” and supported by the “Vidrodzhennya” Foundation. Representatives from the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Social Policy, Ministry of Education and Science, Ministry of Health, State Registration Service, State Migration Service, Romani medical mediators, and donor organizations were invited. During the meeting, brief presentations were given on the European program for Romani mediators, the results of the work of Romani mediators in Ukraine, and discussions revolved around the issues of Roma’s access to social and medical services, obtaining identification documents, and further development of the Romani mediator model in Ukraine.
