The National Round Table “Dialogue between State Authorities, Local Self-Government Bodies, and the Roma Community within the Framework of the Implementation of the ‘ROMED 2’ Program.”

On May 28, 2015, at the invitation of the International Charitable Organization “Roma Women’s Fund ‘Chirikli'”, employees of the State Institute of Family and Youth Policy (Moskalenko L.M. – Head of the Center for Social Innovative Technologies, Maksimova T.I. – Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Social Innovative Technologies, and Andriuchenko T.V. – Research Fellow at the Center for Social Innovative Technologies) participated in the National Round Table “Dialogue between State Authorities, Local Self-Government Bodies, and the Roma Community within the Framework of the Implementation of the ‘ROMED 2’ Program.”

The purpose of the event was to discuss the following issues:

  • Annual report on the results of the implementation of the ROMED 2 program in five regions of Ukraine: Zakarpattia, Kharkiv, Kirovohrad, Kyiv, and Odesa (educational, social, and medical directions);
  • Discussion of the specifics of working with settled Roma and spontaneous Roma camps;
  • Resolving problems arising from the military conflict in Eastern regions of Ukraine and developing mechanisms for cooperation with state structures, local self-government bodies, and Roma community leaders to improve work with the Roma population.
