Roma women on the road to change: a partnership that creates the future

The Roma Women’s Fund “Chirikli” sincerely thanks the Ukrainian Women’s Fund for its partnership, support, and collaboration within the framework of the “Women’s Voice and Leadership – Ukraine” program!

Through our joint efforts, we have not only strengthened the women’s movement but also created real change in the lives of Roma women. Importantly, our initiatives have helped more women engage in active civic participation and provided them with greater opportunities for self-realization.

Thanks to this collaboration, Roma women have been able to:

• Become active participants in decision-making processes at both local and national levels;
• Strengthen their role in public life and contribute to addressing key social issues;
• Gain increased opportunities for personal development, education, and professional growth;
• Establish strong cooperation with women’s rights, human rights, and feminist organizations;
• Take part in large-scale advocacy campaigns aimed at protecting women’s rights and combating discrimination;
• Support Roma communities by fostering their integration into society;
• Respond quickly to humanitarian challenges posed by war, helping those in greatest need.

This collaboration has made it possible to protect the rights of Roma women, amplify their voices, and bring attention to issues that previously went unnoticed. We have expanded dialogue with government authorities, international organizations, and civil society to take significant steps toward a more just and equal society.

We believe that our achievements are just the beginning. There is still much work ahead—new initiatives and opportunities. Together, through unity and support, we can do even more to expand the rights and opportunities of Roma women, ensuring a safe and equal future for all.
