Odesa Without Barriers: Forum on Accessibility and Inclusivity

On December 3, 2024, the “Odesa Without Barriers” forum took place in the Great Hall of the Odesa City Council. The event gathered around 200 participants, including representatives of authorities, NGOs, businesses, and activists. Among the participants was Fedir Kondur, a representative of the Roma Women’s Fund “Chirikli”.

Highlights and Atmosphere of the Event

The forum marked a significant step towards creating an inclusive environment. A Coordination Council for Accessibility was presented, chaired by the Mayor of Odesa, Hennadiy Trukhanov. Additionally, a memorandum of cooperation was signed with the NGO “Bezbarierni” (Barrier-Free).

The forum featured panel discussions and covered important topics such as:

Support for Inclusive Initiatives

Special attention was given to people with disabilities within the Roma community. Cooperation with the NGO “Bezbarierni” includes fundraising for purchasing special transport and other crucial initiatives.

Creating a barrier-free environment is not just about changing infrastructure; it is a step towards equality, dignity, and a better quality of life for everyone.
