Inclusivity in times of war: discussion at the Elle Active Forum

03/07/2025

To Hear. To See. To Support.

This was the message behind the panel discussion at the Elle Active Forum, dedicated to inclusion during wartime in Ukraine.

The Voice of Roma Women at a National Forum

Our partner organization — the Roma Human Rights Center — joined the conversation on critical issues still left on the margins of public dialogue, including:

  • visibility of national minorities,
  • the voice of Roma women,
  • experiences of marginalized communities among veterans,
  • challenges of reintegration into civilian life.

Participants shared their personal stories, achievements, and daily struggles, emphasizing the need for real, context-sensitive support — not just formal gestures.

Diplomatic Words of Support

One of the special guests was the Ambassador of Canada to Ukraine — Ms. Natalka Cmoc. In her address, she emphasized the importance of inclusion, mutual support, and visibility of women from diverse communities. Her words served as another reminder that inclusion is not just about respect — it’s about justice and strength.

We sincerely thank Elle Ukraine, the Embassy of Canada to Ukraine, and the Council of Europe Office in Ukraine for creating a space where the voices of Roma women, national minorities, and other vulnerable groups are heard.

Together, we are building a society where every person matters.
