On June 23rd, a meeting was held at the migration service with representatives from Roma communities across all regions of Ukraine. The meeting was organized at the initiative of the Roma Women’s Fund “Chirikli.”
During the meeting, practical issues arising during the documentation process for Roma individuals were discussed, along with potential ways to systematically address these challenges.
The participants of the meeting agreed to continue the dialogue and collaborate on making necessary legislative changes. They also discussed organizing a series of events, including the study of the experiences of European countries in resolving similar issues.
This initiative suggests that there is an ongoing effort to address the specific documentation issues faced by Roma individuals in Ukraine. The collaborative approach and discussions about legislative changes indicate a commitment to finding lasting solutions to these challenges.
