On June 11, 2014, a working meeting took place at the premises of the Darnytsia District State Administration in Kyiv. The meeting involved representatives from various administrative departments and the Darnytsia Regional Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, along with Zemfira Kondur, a representative of the Roma Charitable Foundation “Chiricli”.

During the meeting, discussions centered around the implementation of the Presidential Decree of Ukraine “On the Strategy for the Protection and Integration of the Roma National Minority into Ukrainian Society until 2020” within the Darnytsia district of Kyiv. Additionally, the possibility of involving the local community in the implementation of the Council of Europe’s ROMED 2 program, aimed at supporting the integration of the Roma community at the local level, was explored.

Participants exchanged ideas about engaging the Roma population in the district’s social and cultural life, as well as enhancing access to education and medical services. Significant attention was given to preventing violations of law among the Roma population and providing assistance to Roma families facing difficult life circumstances.

During the meeting, positive experiences were highlighted, such as the Education Department’s efforts to involve children from Roma families in district cultural and artistic events, as well as the Child Services’ collaboration with the temporarily residing Roma community in the Darnytsia district.

As a result of the meeting, a fundamental agreement was reached to further develop collaboration with the “Chiricli” foundation, with the goal of creating new opportunities for the integration of the Roma community into the district’s public life.
