On September 26-27, Krakow hosted two events organized as part of the European Union and Council of Europe partnership project “Supporting the implementation of European standards regarding the fight against discrimination and the rights of national minorities (communities) in Ukraine”, namely the Official Start of the Project and the Forum of National Minorities (community) of Ukraine.
Representatives of Ukrainian state institutions, national communities of Ukraine, European institutions and international organizations, as well as international experts gathered to discuss the current state of affairs in ensuring the rights and opportunities of national minorities in Ukraine from the point of view of Council of Europe standards.
During the two-day meeting, the participants considered issues related to the European integration law on national minorities in view of the standards and guidelines of the Council of Europe, as well as the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine.
In addition, the organizers of the event accepted the project’s terms of reference and presented the work plan for the year.
In addition to summing up the results, the participants of the event were treated to an art exhibition and a creative performance by the Leiyla Trio.
Roma Women’s Foundation “Chirikli” would like to thank the European Union and the Council of Europe for the development of such important projects and the constant struggle against discrimination and violation of the rights of national communities!
