Achievements of the ROMED-2 program implementation

To resolve this issues of illegal houses in Roma settlements the CAG together with fund "Chirikli" and partner organization fund "Blago" appealed to the Deputy Mayor Olga Travina to set up a working group to develop mechanisms of legalization of houses in Roma settlements.

The Mayor of Uzhgorod supported the idea to set up the​​ working group, thus from 07.07.2015 the working group was established and approved by the Mayor. The working group on the registration of houses in Roma settlements composed of: representatives of municipality, Legal Department, Department of Urban Development and Architecture, Housing and Communal Services, Department of land use, Migration Service, representatives of Roma organizations and Roma mediators and CAG’s representatives.

The first meeting was conducted on 6 August 2015, the second meeting was on 14 August, the documents of more than ten houses were reviewed, and three of them can be legalized. The CAG’s representatives and the mediators are working to collect more documents and legalize the first 10 houses.
